@ANNA F @michelle g @Bonnie K Let me know if GD responses are approved on dealership side. Thanks. Line 1: approved for 0.4 hour (GD will cover parts and labor as a one-time courtesy to assist the customer. Line 2: Denied- no defect Line 3: approved for 5 hours (GD will cover parts and labor as a one-time courtesy) Line 4: Not a defect can be buffed out. Per my body shop manager: It is where the protective plastic is on the wall when lamination makes the wall. It does not need to be changed nothing is wrong with it. Most of the time we wipe them off with mineral spirits. But it will buff off with gelcoat compound!!

@Alix M I'm not sure what happened to this, as we don't do any body work in house here. So i am unsure how to proceed. I was not apart of this process since september last year.
Michelle Antinoja
dealer_or_external • May 15, 2025, 4:38 PM
@Alix M So i was just speaking with my Tech and Matt. The piece that came for the lino repair is not the correct size. Once it had been further looked that there is two lines for the lino. (warr 04 and warr03) Both of these line are caused by a previous lino repair. I am unsure of who originally did the repair but it is failed. I believe that this was originally a good willed item but I could be incorrect. At this point with the present damages to this lino we are recommending it be a full replacement because of the failed repairs. Per Matt we are requesting for GD to review the photos and recommend a repair facility to take over the lino repair. Please reach out with further questions. @Matt F

@Alix M I JUST SPOKE TO @Matt F REGARDING THIS. TWO HOURS IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE TIME FRAME TO COMPLETE THIS REPAIR. 75% OF THE ODS OF THE UNIT WILL NEED TO BE BUFFED AS WELL AS ABOUT HALF OF THE DOOR SIDE WILL NEED TO BE BUFFED. ADDITIONALLY, THE FIBERGLASS BODY SHOP NEAR US TRIED TO BUFF OUT THE CONCERN AND IT DID NOT WORK. BUFFING THE UNIT IS NOT THE SOLUTION.
Matt Ferkey

Matt Ferkey
dealer_or_external • Jul 31, 2025, 10:57 AM
@Alix M I was a body and paint guy for years before I came to the dealership. while it is possible this was a residue of some sort, it has etched deep into the gel coat. there is nothing to wipe off. buffing wont take it out either. wetsanding and buffing may, but it will level out the texture of the gelcoat and there will then be smooth lines. This unit needs to be painted or have the sidewalls replaced.

@Kaitlyn R @Alix M @Chris B This is getting INSANE! I had spoken with Matt, the bodyshop manager. I told him buffing did not work because the imperfection has etched into the gelcoat. He insisted I try a solvent to wipe it off... I reluctantly tried and it did not remove the imperfection. I called Matt back and he was puzzled, asked if you could feel it with a fingernail which I responded, no. He said he would get it pushed through for approval to be repainted, he just needed a copy of the estimate from our bodyshop.
