TESTING AND LEARNING — GRE 8220 / Write Off / RO 10453, 2024 Grand Design Transcend Xplor 24BHX. WHY NOT PAID: The original July 22, 2024 Dropbox discussion states PA 790886 was submitted, but Grand Design denied BOTH warranty lines as DAMAGE, not a factory defect. Earlier July messages show a delay getting the shore-power inlet brand needed to submit. The May 2024 RO and all five photos confirm a torn vertical 24BHX decal and broken shore-power inlet lid, but do not prove that either damage originated in manufacturing rather than handling/transport. WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE: Identify inlet manufacturer/part and secure delivery-condition photographs, transport handoff evidence, defect-versus-damage rationale, OEM written decision and supplier coverage promptly. Pursue original contractual shipping/handling damage route if warranted and timely, rather than assuming warranty covers physical damage. JOB 1 decal has $57.50 warranty-coded labor, but replacement is not proven complete. JOB 2 inlet has $68.69 part plus $57.50 labor = $126.19; RO narration requested 2 hours but billed 0.5 hour on this line. The $183.69 warranty-coded RO total is NOT verified denied/unpaid or collectible dollars; $365.84 in internal PDI is excluded. Verify actual submission, remittance, booked writeoff, covered defect and appeal deadlines before treating any amount as lost. Wisconsin §218.164 became effective Oct 1, 2024; do NOT retroactively apply it to May-July 2024 work/denial. LEARNING: capture 3Cs, inlet brand, arrival-damage chain of custody and per-line payments early, separate physical damage from covered factory failure.
