Found during the SFD double checking the solar after connecting a new battery to the unit first checked it was still preset for the flooded. Battery flooded battery was fully charged. Began checking and did not see a charge coming from the solar into the solar panel pull the wires check the DC voltage coming from the solar panel at 00 voltage Got on the roof to disconnect the solar panel from the roof cap and found the roof cap was under the solar panel the only way to access the roof cap to check if the solar panel was putting out any voltage was to remove the solar panel from the roof, however when I attempted to unbolt it from the brackets screwed to *73738* the roof, found that they would not unbolt without a ranch on the backside. Theyre so close to the roof that you cannot get a wrench on those bolts. Scraped off all sealant on the mounting brackets to the roof unscrewed. The solar panel from the roof, lifted the solar panel up and out of the way disconnected the solar panel from the roof cap tested voltage at 20 V. Scrape the sealant off of the roof cap pull these four screws out. Remove the roof cap. Double check the wire nuts to the wire in the ceiling was clamp tight reconnected the solar panel to the roof cap check the voltage at the wire nut 00 voltage determine that the roof cap had gone bad obtained a new roof. Cap went to the roof connected it prior to connecting it to the wire harness check the voltage through the roof cap and found the exact same issue no voltage on the inside of the roof cap. Began for their testing, found that the positive wire coming from the control box under the solar panel to the quick disconnect had power however, when plugged into the roof cap, the connection inside they quick disconnect was not making proper contact. Therefore power could not go through when testing continuity from the control box on the positive side all the way through the roof cap. There was no continuity, however, testing continuity through the roof cap found that there was continuity through the roof cap on both positive and negative sides. There was continuity on the positive wire from the controller under the solar panel to the quick disconnect. Therefore, I determine that the quick disconnected gone bad and did replace the entire cable from the inside of the control box feeding it back through the packing that clamping a connector on MONIQUE SCHONROCK, LORIE Customer #: 61954 the end, securing it to the control box inside, connecting the roof cap back to the quick disconnect and checking power through the roof cap and found that I had power through the roof cap Reconnected the roof cap to the wire harness, using crimp wire nuts, screwed the roof cap back to the roof resealed it with decor set the solar panel in place reattach it to the roof with three screws at each of the mounting brackets, resealed the mounting brackets with decor Tested power at the control box before reconnecting the wires of the control box that have 20 DC volts coming into the controller reconnected the controller and immediately showed that it was powering and charging the battery as it should be solar controller is now working correctly. 1.00HRS
