CUSTOMER STATES T-STAT INOP (FURNACE / AC)

Thermostat screen locked / defective t-stat and wiring

Had the unit plugged into shore power Battery had already been changed from a flooded battery to AGM Solar controller had been changed for the correct battery incoming voltage and voltage to the battery were both correct Went to the thermostat I could It was reading a temperature showing that it was on low cool Attempted a reset on the thermostat itself by holding down the up and down arrows for five seconds or until *59582* the screen started flashing after five seconds the screen was not flashing. Nothing had changed on the thermostat Did a whole hard reset on the entire unit by unplugging shore power disconnecting the battery disconnecting the solar turning off all breakers inside and removing the 15 amp fuse for the air conditioner Let the unit set in the state for five minutes, then began reconnecting all the components starting with the solar than the battery then short power turning on all breakers replacing the 15 amp fuse then waiting an additional five minutes there was no change on the thermostat it would not reset. It would not do any functions with system mode, attempted to reset again on the thermostat by holding down the up and down arrow simultaneously no flashing on the screen occurred no changes to the thermostat. Remove the cover inside in the kitchen and bedroom air conditioners got the air conditioner tester and a temperature tester and tested the air conditioners themselves the kitchen air conditioner at 118 V on fan high 2.84 A when turning the compressor on it was 115 V and 13.82 A the Delta temperature difference 84 ambient temperature inside 54 output air. Did the same test for the front air conditioner in the front bedroom on fan high is 118 V 2.81 A when the compressor was turned on 116 V 12.63 A delta temperature difference 90.4 ambient temperature inside the unit to 54 clearly showing both the air conditioners are operating correctly. Recommendation replacing the thermostat. The thermostat is a thermostat that controls both air conditioners and the furnace. Replacement thermostat arrived Plug the unit into shore power Open the slide or easier access to the thermostat Disconnected the old thermostat connected the new thermostat Immediately the new thermostat went to a screen showing the system was on cool. Fan was on auto and Page 1 of 4 © 2026 Integrated Dealer Systems *73678* giving a room temperature. However, none of the control buttons would work. We could not change the Promised Date: 10 JUL 26 W/O: 73678 system setting off did not move zones. Conducted a full power shutdown of the unit for a hard reset this involved. Im plugging short power completely disconnecting the battery disconnecting the solar control turning off the battery disconnect. I let the unit set for five minutes, began reconnecting all the components when I got back inside the screen was in the exact same position and would not change would not move. Called forest River for technical support left a voicemail. Never got a return phone call Called Coleman air xl at first spoke to Dale I explained to Dale what the issue that I was having with this unit with the thermostat, I told him that I had done a full power shut down for a hard reset he insisted that I need to make sure the inverter is shut off also I went back I fully disconnected. The battery turned the battery disconnect off, disconnected the solar unplugged. The shore power verified there was no 12 V going through the entire system. Waited 15 minutes started by plugging in sure power only immediately the thermostat was back to the same setting controls would not work at all we could not move change or do anything with the controls. I called Coleman back. I spoke to Dale again and told him what I had done what they full power shut down. *73678* He transferred me to Eric. Eric began asking me questions. I explained to him about doing the hard reset with a full power shut down he wanted to know if I had access to the control box inside the air conditioner. I did explain to him that Id already had that pulled down and I gave him the model number for the control box. He asked me to use jumper wires between the communication lines from the control box to the thermostat when I connected the jumper wire between the control box and the thermostat on the purple and black wire immediately the thermostat began working both air conditioners turned on then Eric had me removed the jumper wire for the black between the control box and the thermostat. Wait for a period of time. The thermostat then switched into the same mode that it was before starting with losing the zones and then the air conditioners turning off, reconnected the black wire disconnected. The purple wire jumper. Both air conditioners remained operational that point it was determined that the black wire was faulty. Eric asked how the control panel was wire since there were two air conditioners. I told him both black wires were in one female connector on one side of the control panel explained to me that that was not how it was designed to be hooked up. Thats why theres two posts and that there have been instances in the past where that connector had gone bad and one of the wires was not making proper contact within that connector explain to me start by removing that connector separating the wires onto both posts, disconnecting the jumper, wire and see if the problem still exists as soon as I did that and disconnected the jumper wire the air conditioner system shut off, and the screen went back to a locked mode, and then ran continuity checks to determine WILSON, RICHARD Customer #: 59582 which black wire went to which air conditioner, isolated the one for the living area, air conditioner, or zone one I found a way to run a new 14 gauge wire from the control board through the ceiling down the wall and to the thermostat this was done by putting the wire through the actual overhead air duct, removing a bat strip in an outside corner mold, pulling panel away from the wall or the thermostat was drilling a hole through the top plate and into the Styrofoam air duct, pushing a fish tape from a ceiling vent about 2 feet away from the wall through the hole that I had just drilled and then pulling the wire back through that ceiling vent, then going to the air conditioner on the vent side, pushing the fish tape through the air duct to the vent, closest to the thermostat, tying off the wire and pulling it into the air conditioner, and then pushing it through the foam from the output to the intake where the control panel was connected the wire to the control panel, then connected it to the thermostat and doing so the air conditioner immediately turned on and began operating correctly without a jumper wire I was able to toggle through the system between heat and cold. I was able to run the furnace the furnace good operate correctly. The air conditioners are working correctly. *59582* You can change the temperature between zone one and zone two on how much air you want between the two air conditioners and then reattached the thermostat to the wall, reattach the wall panel, reattach the bat strip in the outside corner, used putty, stick, and put the new staple holes and some of the old staple holes that were visible. Push the control panel for the air conditioner back into the return air duct reattached it to the inside wall, but the ceiling dark back on allow the air conditioners to run further than turn the air-conditioning off turn the heater back on verified that the heater was still an operation which it was turn the air conditioners back on and then turn the system off air conditioners in the heater now work and work correctly. There has been forced through the overhead duck system straight. Downdraft works on both air conditioners. Materials used to crimp wire nuts, approximately 10feet of 14 gauge wire, two female crimp connectors. Once everything in the unit was back together, I did clean up the loose Styrofoam and sawdust and wire trimmings from the floor Brian came to the unit for QC did show the operation of the air conditioners and the heater that work is now complete

Using a voltmeter and a DC volt tester and a plug-in tester tested every outlet in the unit. Every outlet tested have proper voltage was wired correctly. Check the GFI plug in the kitchen press test press reset work perfectly tested all of the lights inside the unit all the lights were correctly all the USB plugs worked correctly found no issues with the 12 V system or the 120 V system. As reported on the thermostat job line both air conditioners operated correctly. The thermostat is bad, not allowing me to test the furnace test the water heater water heater did come on all appliances and plugs switches and lights. All appear to be operating correctly. We have to test the furnace once the thermostat is replaced.

Submitted for payment. @Brian P The cost price for the thermostat on the invoice is only $100.82, with your 15% markup your part should be $115.94. Not sure if you're able to fix it or if it is already closed, but just wanted to let you know.
