@Kaitlyn R @Michelle A
This has been denied:
have looked at the pictures you have sent me and have read your techs report in the claim , I then got with our production team here at the plant and they .looked at your pics also and said everything sound and looks completely normal . So we will simply note the concern but deni the claim

@Alix M Can you have Grand Design confirm in writing that the awning arm is not to sit flush in the track were it rests against the unit? I am going to have to call the customer to update them and I want to be able to tell them/show them what Grand Design had said as it does not appear to be correct.

Also from them: We did note the situations in the case of it possibly worsening , but we see this in a lot of units in the field and is considered normal .

TESTING AND LEARNING — Testing/Learning claim: GRE 8220 / Write Off / RO 12325B. WHY UNPAID: Forest River denied PA2518883 on December 5, 2025 after reviewing the technician's report and pictures with the production team; they considered the awning condition normal and recorded it in case it worsened. The technician found no actual fabric sag, measured equal top/bottom width and could not eliminate the arm-top gap by adjusting fabric. The five photos identify the awning and show the retracted arm/roller arrangement, but no quantified out-of-spec condition. The written FR response requested during the discussion is already saved here. WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN DONE DIFFERENTLY: distinguish the customer's concern from a demonstrated functional failure; record repeatable measurements and operating results against manufacturer criteria, and obtain diagnostic authorization before repeated adjustment when no covered fault is established. Preserve the dated baseline and obtain a new assessment if the condition changes. Repeating the same photos or asking again for the existing email would not overcome this decision. MONEY: 0.67 hour/$93.80 is billed. Per the owner it is unpaid and written off; exact ledger loss and any remaining review route are unverified. @Chris B @Heidi H @Tricia H
