TESTING AND LEARNING — Testing/Learning claim: GRE 8220 / Write Off / RO 11435. WHY UNPAID: PA821901 was submitted November 7, 2024; the November 8 sidebar says 'warranty expired 5/25/24' and identifies a maintenance issue. The RO records pinbox noise, a dry/tweaked wear plate, greasing and adjustment, plus a separate tow-vehicle hitch setup problem. The photographed manual specifies maintenance checks and lubrication. The worn wedge and plate photos establish condition, but do not independently prove a manufacturing defect or who caused it. WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN DONE DIFFERENTLY: verify the warranty end date and service history at intake; document the actual failure separately from lubrication or hitch adjustment; obtain written exception or diagnostic authorization before expecting OEM payment. Retain the correct VIN, setup/maintenance records and an after-service operational test. A timely submission alone would not cure expired coverage or a maintenance-based denial. MONEY: the RO shows $115 warranty-coded diagnosis and $73.74 customer hitch adjustment, total $188.74. The sidebar does not itemize denied dollars. Per the owner this is unpaid and written off; reconcile the ledger before calling the full RO an OEM loss. Better intake routing could have avoided an unsupported reimbursement expectation; payment cannot be promised. @Chris B @Heidi H @Tricia H
